About the website
This is the institutional website of SOLAMAC, the scientific society that brings together specialists in aquatic mammals across Latin America. Here we publish information about the society, the LAJAM journal, the Working Meeting, community news, and membership.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the website lawfully and not to attempt to access restricted areas without permission, interfere with its operation, post offensive, false, or unlawful content, or use the forms to send unsolicited advertising.
Members’ area
Access to the members’ area is personal and non-transferable. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity carried out with your account.
Creating an account does not replace paying the annual fee. Member benefits apply only to members whose annual fees are up to date.
Annual fee and payments
Payments are processed by Stripe in a secure environment. The categories, amounts, and benefits shown on the membership page at the time of payment apply.
After paying, send proof of your status as a student or professional to solamac@gmail.com. Refund requests are reviewed by the board on a case-by-case basis.
Amounts are shown in Brazilian reais. If you pay from outside Brazil, the payment environment automatically shows the conversion to your local currency.
Intellectual property
SOLAMAC’s texts, brand, logo, and other materials are protected by law and may not be reproduced for commercial purposes without prior permission. Third-party photos and videos are used under their authors’ licenses and credited on the Credits page. LAJAM articles follow the license stated in each publication.
External links
The website links to third-party pages, such as journals, partner institutions, SOLAMAC’s Instagram, Dropbox (abstract books), and the payment checkout. SOLAMAC does not control those websites and is not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
Limitation of liability
We work to keep information accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that the website is error-free or available without interruption. To the extent permitted by law, SOLAMAC is not liable for any damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the website. Historical information (dates, boards, award winners) comes from documents and the society’s previous website and may contain inaccuracies; corrections are welcome by email at solamac@gmail.com.
Changes and contact
We may update these Terms at any time. The current version will always be published on this page. Questions can be sent to solamac@gmail.com.
